A domain is the unique address of your website on the internet, for example itgroup.kz. It is what people type in the browser to open your site, and it is part of every link. Two websites cannot have the same domain name, it is their "unique passport".
When choosing a domain, remember that it is the permanent "home address" of your project on the internet. You can change hosting, update the design or even completely change your business model, but the domain name stays the same. So choose it carefully.
